TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The Florida State Women’s Basketball team’s outreach just got even bigger in the 2015-16 season as it added 10 more ESPN3 games to its regular-season slate, giving the program 21 televised matchups so far this year.
In addition to its regular season that already includes five nationally televised games and two regional broadcasts, the Seminoles have filled their remaining home schedule with ESPN’s highly popular streaming service to accommodate their fan base. Currently, 70 percent of their regular-season schedule will be broadcast on ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN3 or via a regional sports network telecast.
Furthermore, an additional game or two is likely to be added to the TV schedule prior to regular season.
The added ESPN3 games include: the team’s home opener vs. Tulane (Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.), UNF (Nov. 24 at 11 a.m.), the B1G/ACC Challenge vs. Rutgers (Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.), Temple (Dec. 6 at 2 p.m.), Mercer (Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m.), Murray State (Dec. 19, at 2 p.m.), Jacksonville (Dec. 28 at 7 p.m.), Boston College (Jan. 7 at 7 p.m.), Virginia Tech (Jan. 31 at 2 p.m.) and Feb. 7 (Clemson at 2 p.m.).
FSU is projected to enjoy a three-year span where 69 of its last 99 games have been televised, including 48 of its last 70 games entering the 2015-16 season. Its last six games during last season’s run to the NCAA Elite Eight aired nationally or regionally, which included its success in the ACC and NCAA Tournaments.
The Seminoles begin the upcoming season against the rival Florida Gators on Monday, Nov. 16, at a time to be announced at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center in Gainesville.
