TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Junior center Adut Bulgak and sophomore point guard Leticia Romero added to their individual accolades when it was announced that they were each named Associated Press Honorable Mention All-Americans on Tuesday evening.

Bulgak and Romero are now the 17th and 18th All-Americans in Florida State Women’s Basketball history. It is just the second time FSU has had multiple All-Americans in the same season, as former players Jacinta Monroe and Courtney Ward were each honored as AP Honorable Mention All-Americans in 2010.

The inside-outside combination was one of the most effective in program history as they guided the record-setting Seminoles to their second NCAA Elite Eight appearance in program history. Florida State finished with a school-record 32-5 mark and posted 11 more victories than the previous season, the second-largest turnaround by the program.

Bulgak, a resident of Edmonton, Canada, led FSU in points per game (12.3), rebounds per game (9.5), offensive rebounds (113), defensive rebounds (219), total rebounds (332), field goals made (162), blocked shots (54) and double-doubles (12). Her 12 double-doubles recorded are tied for the second-most in a season at FSU.
Bulgak adds to her individual hardware with her first All-America honor at the Division I level. This season, she was named WBCA All-Region, an All-ACC First Team member by the Blue Ribbon Panel and the Coaches, NCAA Greensboro Regional All-Tournament Team and a Naismith Trophy Midseason 30 candidate.
She also was the ESPNW National Player of the Week on Feb. 9 after averaging 14.5 points and 16.5 rebounds in wins over No. 25 Syracuse and Miami.

Romero’s immediate eligibility that began with her FSU debut on Dec. 29 against Jacksonville was one of the biggest moments of the season. While FSU had already gotten off to a great start, the Las Palmas, Spain, native elevated the Seminoles and recorded several eye-opening performances.
Romero’s numbers were mostly drawn from conference play and the NCAA postseason. In ACC play, she recorded nine or more assists three times while no other ACC player reached that mark more than once. Only Romero and Notre Dame sophomore guard Lindsay Allen are the two players in the ACC who were in the Top 10 in field goal percentage (50.4 percent) and assists (5.4) in conference play.
Romero recorded a triple-double against Boston College on Feb. 22 in an 86-68 win. Her 19 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists and no turnovers made her the second Seminole Women’s Hoops player to record a triple-double and the 13th ACC player to do it in conference play. Romero also scored a career-high 21 points in what was a clutch performance in FSU’s 66-65 NCAA Sweet 16 win over Arizona State on March 27.
Romero earned All-ACC Second Team honors this season, was a member of the ACC All-Tournament Second Team as well as the NCAA Greensboro Regional All-Tournament Team.

Eight ACC student-athletes earned a spot on the AP All-America First and Second Team as well as the Honorable Mention Team. Notre Dame junior guard Jewell Loyd was a first-team honoree, while Duke senior center Elizabeth Williams was on the second team.
The honorable mention recipients in addition to Romero and Bulgak include Louisville freshman forward Mariya Moore, Notre Dame’s Lindsay Allen, Notre Dame freshman forward Brianna Turner and Wake Forest senior forward Dearica Hamby.
